  1. Shri Ram College of Commerce, New Delhi

Shri Ram College of commerce, abbreviated as SRCC, is affiliated to University of Delhi’s North Campus. It is considered as the best college for commerce in India. This prestigious institution was established in 1926 by Sir Sri Ram, an eminent industrialist and philanthropist. The college has excellent infrastructure with Library, Hostel facilities for girls and boys, sports facilities, etc. It is also one of the only two colleges of Delhi University to have a swimming pool. The college sums up its vision in the following words:

SRCC has one of the highest average package value of about 8 LPA, the highest being 25 LPA in 2021-22 session. Prestigious companies like Google, Deloitte, McKinsey & Co., Accenture, etc, were some of the recruiters.

2. Hindu College, New Delhi

Hindu college is the most reputed college of University of Delhi for Arts and Science courses, and the second best in India for commerce courses, according to India Today Rankings of 2021. Established in 1899, it has exceptional infrastructure with sports, library and all academic facilities required for excellence.

Its vision has been summed up in the following words:

The college has a vibrant placement cell and average package stands at an appetising value of around 8.5 LPA. Highest package in session 2020-21 was 29 LPA. Major recruiting companies were Ernest & Young, Deloitte, Maruti, KPMG, Google, etc.

3. Lady Shri Ram College for Women, Delhi

Lady Shri Ram College for Women, popularly abbreviated as LSR, is one of the top colleges in India for undergraduate programs, for female students. Affiliated to University of Delhi, it has been in the top three list since past few years. The infrastructure is beautiful and ample. Hostel facilities are available for first year students only.

4. Hansraj College, New Delhi

Affiliated to the university of Delhi, Hansraj college is located in the much wanted North campus. It offers a variety of courses in science, commerce and arts. As per the infrastructure, It includes a well-stocked Central Library and a Book Bank for needy students. The College has six Computer Labs. and 18 Science laboratories. Its sports facilities include vast playground, an Indoor Sports Complex, Playrooms, Amphitheatre, lift facility and the only Electronic Shooting Range in the University.

5. Loyola College, Chennai

Affiliated to the University of Madras, Loyola College is a private institution offering a variety of courses. It was established in 1925 and since then, it has been successful in imparting quality education to the young citizens of India. It has excellent infrastructure with all the required facilities. 6. Christ University, Bengaluru

Christ university is a deemed to be university in Bengaluru, Karnataka, offering courses in commerce, arts, sciences, engineering, law, etc. It has a campus of about 21.5 acres and various playgrounds, student auditoriums and library. The following is the mission of the university:

Average package is around 6-7 LPA for undergraduate students. The highest packages touch around 11-12 LPA, which is lower than the top colleges of Delhi University.

7. Ramjas College, New Delhi  

Ramjas college is affiliated to University of Delhi and is situated in its north campus. Founded in 1917, it is one of the oldest colleges of Delhi. It offers variety of courses in commerce, science and arts. As per the infrastructure, it is situated in a big 25 acres of land and posses a beautiful building. It also offers hostel facilities, library and auditorium, sports facilities, etc.

Courses offered:

  • B.Com, B.Com(Hons), B.A. Economics (Hons)

Course fee structure:

  • ₹14,495 per year for B.Com and B.Com (Hons) and ₹13,495 per year for B.A. Economics (Hons).

Placements:

D.E. Shaw, EY, TresVista, Deloitte, Byju’s, etc. were among the top recruiters for 2020-21 session. The Average package value is about 3-5 LPA and the highest package offered was 21 LPA in 2019.

8. St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai

St. Xavier’s college is an autonomous private institution in Mumbai, Maharashtra, founded in 1869. The variety of courses for commerce is restricted. It has a splendid building with good infrastructural facilities. The college states its vision as follows:

  • ₹23,361 for three years (B.Com) and ₹1.12 lakh for B.M.S. for three years.

  • Entrance examination for B.M.S.

Placements:

Many reputed companies are invited for the placement drive in the campus. The average package lies between 3-5 LPA and the highest package offered was of 30 LPA in 2020-21, offered to a student of B.M.S.

9. Sri Venkateshwara College, Delhi

Popularly abbreviated as SVC, Sri Venkateshwara College is affiliated to University of Delhi and offers a wide range of courses in commerce, arts and science. Established in 1961, it has good infrastructural facilities within an area of 15 acres. The college has indicated upon their vision in the following words:

“Sri Venkateshwara College envisions “Self-realization through knowledge” emphasizing holistic, inclusive and futuristic education in tune with the college motto “Satyaana Pramadittavyam” (Do not deviate from Truth).”

It has lower package values as compared to other colleges of Delhi University. The average package stands around 5-6 LPA and the highest package offered was of 15 LPA in 2019-20 session.

10. Madras Christian College, Chennai

Affiliated to the University of Madras, MCC was founded in 1837 and is one of the oldest colleges of India. Diverse courses are offered to the students which are categorised into Aided and self financed streams. It has a luxurious campus of about 300 acres and exceptional infrastructural facilities. The vision of the college is as follows:

Courses offered:

  • B.Com, B.A. Economics and BBA

Fees structure:

  • ₹83,757 for three years.

Admission procedure:

  • Merit based, i.e., on the basis of marks secured in senior secondary examination.

Placements:

The placements of MCC are not very attractive as the median package ranges only around 2-3 LPA. Even the highest placement rarely goes beyond 5 LPA.
